Early in 2017, I took the plunge and pulled away from the web-hosted WordPress.com to the self-hosted WordPress.org. In non-blogger terms, this means I am no longer reaping the free benefits of WordPress providing all the technological work on the back end of my blog.
It means that in addition to writing blog posts, I am also running the web-design, features, and little tools that keep The UnderToad functioning normally. It also means I now have a few more monthly and annual fees that are required to keep my website live, secure, and mostly free of error messages, in order to continue blogging at The UnderToad.
In order to pay for these fees, I have chosen to allow ads and affiliate links on some of my posts. This means that any time you click a link on any of my articles and purchase a product, I will make a small commission for referring you.
So, thank you! Thank you to all my readers who have emotionally supported this hobby of mine for the many years I was doing it for free. And now, thank you for continuing to support me at The UnderToad whenever you purchase anything through my recommendation. I promise I will do my best to stay on the side of not selling out. I will, of course, continue to write from my heart and avoid advertising overload.
